Nottingham STEAMS ahead with more visitors than ever
New figures from the Scarborough Tourism Economic Activity Monitor (STEAM) report revealed this week saw that Nottingham and the wider county had a 1.3% increase in 2017 from 2016 going from 35.42 million to 35.89 million.
It wasn’t just the number of tourists that seem to be growing either, figures also showed an increase in spend per trip jumping from £49.43 in 2016 to £50.54 in 2017 – a 2.2% rise.

Nottingham to be first UK opening for Australian virtual reality gaming centre
Australian virtual reality gaming centre meetspaceVR is bringing Zero Latency to the Victoria Centre in October, the first opening in the UK.
The company, founded in 2014 in Australia, currently operates across 4 continents and has over 500,000 games played to date. Zero Latency is a free-roam, multiplayer virtual reality game and it represents the next level in social entertainment giving participants the chance to enter a virtual world and experience it as if they would do in real life.

Nottingham based digital agency up for 2 prestigious awards

Nottingham’s intu Victoria Centre set for £1m overhaul
Today’s news has revealed a new £1m project to remodel the Victoria Centre’s famous Clocktower dining area. After it was sadly revealed much loved Thai restaurant, Thaikhun, this week shut its door for the last time the new plans reveal there will be new outlets offering affordable dining, a virtual reality zombie apocalypse challenge as well as McDonalds and already established Clean Cut Kitchen who are expanding their business.
General Manager at intu Victoria Centre, Nigel Wheatley: “With centre occupancy at an impressive 99 percent, we’re now able to make this investment and create a compelling space that offers our customers even more. Expect a big change in both tone and ambiance, lots more natural elements and a mix of food kiosks for a quick bite to eat, alongside sit-down dining experiences perfect for family outings. We can’t wait to share the designs!”
The project is aimed to be finished in November just in time for the hectic Christmas rush.
