Plans revealed for phase one of 600-acre Fairham Pastures development

A public exhibition is planned on the proposed first phase of infrastructure works that will support the £800 million, mixed use Fairham development south of Clifton. 

Outline planning permission, approved by Rushcliffe Borough Council in May 2019, includes more than £100 million of new infrastructure improvements as well as up to 3,000 new homes and up to one million square feet of employment opportunities to be built.

The first phase of the proposed infrastructure for the scheme will include improvement and access works to Nottingham Road, works to Mill Hill roundabout and new access to and from the Clifton South park and ride site.

There will also be new pedestrian and cyclist crossing points together with the creation of new road infrastructure within the development area itself. Subject to planning approval, work is expected to start on site during 2020.

The new sustainable neighbourhood for Nottingham, Fairham is being brought forward by Derbyshire-based CWC Group in partnership with Homes England.

Fairham is one of the most significant mixed use developments in the country, bringing much-needed employment and housing to the region. It will create a vibrant community with new health, education, leisure, retail and local facilities in a well-planned, sustainable, safe and characterful environment.

The local community is being invited to view details of the proposals and meet the Fairham team at exhibitions to be held in Barton in Fabis Village Hall and Gotham Memorial Hall as follows:

Friday 8 November, 10am – 7.30pm – Barton in Fabis Village Hall

• Saturday 9November, 9am – 1pm – Barton in Fabis Village Hall
• Friday 15 November, 2pm – 7.30pm – Gotham Memorial Hall

The plans will also be available to view on www.fairhamlife.co.uk from 8 November 2019.

Fairham sits alongside the new £150 million A453 Remembrance Way that links to the M1. It is directly next to the NET tram terminus at Clifton and is a 15 minute tram ride from Nottingham city centre, and a 15 minute drive from East Midlands Airport.

The scheme forms a key part of Rushcliffe’s Local Plan and will help meet the borough’s commitment to deliver 13,500 new homes over the next ten years.

CWC Group and its partners, including Homes England, aim to deliver a distinctive, high quality development that enhances the existing area while providing much needed new housing, facilities and jobs for local people.

The development will be delivered in phases and is likely to take between 10-15 years to complete. There will be a range of new amenities and facilities at Fairham, including provision for sports pitches, allotments, parkland, play areas, community woodland and wetland and a safeguarded route for the NET tram to enable a future extension to be built.
