It was fantastic to today be at the unveiling of the Vision for Broad Marsh. Nottingham’s independent Greater Broad Marsh Advisory Group, established by Nottingham City Council in March 2021, has today published its Vision and recommendations for one of the most significant City Centre development sites in the UK and the “once in many generations” opportunity for Nottingham to lead the way in city centre regeneration following the impacts of Covid-19 and online retailing. 

BatFast, a sports technology business promoting participation in global sport, founded and based in the East Midlands, are relocating to a bigger site in Nottingham due to significant growth over the last 3 years.

Employees from a range of engineering businesses across the country have come together this week to form the first cohort on the pioneering Electro-mechanical Engineer Degree Apprenticeship at the University of Nottingham. The degree-level Electro-mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship standard was only approved for delivery in December 2020, making the apprentices not only the first at Nottingham, but the first in the country to study this new programme.

Emma, Nicolle and Katie attended Fresher’s Fair at the University of Nottingham last month, asking students to fill out a short survey in return for one of Nottingham’s finest sweet treats, Doughnotts.

September saw the Invest in Nottingham team head to London Tech Week and our first face to face event since the beginning of the pandemic.

Laurence Henry, the well-known Nottingham chef and former MasterChef winner, has been named chef patron at Canal Turn – the stunning new restaurant and entertainment space currently on site at The Island Quarter.
